The Challenge: Today students face challenges that were unheard of when most of us were children. The explosion of technology, including a technology based economy and information acquisition have changed our culture. To be successful "students need to be able to solve problems logically, work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and think critically". (National School Boards Association) We are demanding more and more of our students and our schools are held to higher and higher standards.
Brevard schools are rising to the challenge. The School Board is not elected to run the schools. It is our challenge to hire the best leaders, establish priorities within community expectations, challenge the community to participate in partnership, and to align the necessary resources.
This challenge will require the vision, leadership, experience and integrity that I will bring to the Board. I am committed to meeting the challenge of these rising expectations. If you would like to be a part of the answer, I would like to ask you to work with me to make our school system even better. Let's meet the challenge for the future of our children.
